Googles August Pixels Update fixies a problem where the navigation button swipe gestures sometimes stop working.

The problem seemed to have started soon after android 16 was released in June 2025, one pixel 8 pro user said navigation has been “ a complete mess” with buttons sometimes not responding at all or taking over 30 seconds to work. Another Pixel user said they often had to press the back button several times before it worked. The swipe‑to‑go‑back gesture also stopped working at times, according to Android Police’s Artem Russakovskii.

Google patch’s notes don’t give details , only saying the navigation issues happened under “ certain conditions” Along with stability improvement , the updates also fixes a problem where the scheduled darks theme don’t turn on as it should , it also includes an important security Patch for serious code execution big.
